The optics of theatre allow us to witness a teenager interact awkwardly with his father in a pickup truck, then counterpoint this scene against the same youth years later - applying and rejecting lessons learned as he counsels his own son. The contrast and similarities celebrate the often unspoken love that fathers and sons share with one another.
